Curriculum: Experience
At the Creative Learning Center, we use the Experience Early Learning curriculum to spark curiosity and nurture a love for God and learning. Each month, children explore exciting themes through hands-on activities, art, music, stories, and play.
This research-based program helps children grow in all areas — faith, social and emotional skills, language and early literacy, problem-solving, creativity, and physical development. Bible stories and songs are woven into each theme, helping little ones see God’s love in everyday learning.
Because the lessons are thoughtfully planned and connected to early learning standards, families can feel confident their children are building a strong foundation for kindergarten and beyond while growing in Christ-like character.
Numerous research studies have shown that children who attend higher-quality early learning programs are more prepared for school entry than children who do not attend high-quality programs. Child care and early learning programs that achieve Texas Rising Star certification, offering quality care that exceeds the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) Child Care Regulation (CCR) minimum standards, are in a better position to positively affect the physical, social-emotional, and cognitive development of children. As programs advance through the levels of Texas Rising Star certification, they are increasingly able to positively affect the development of the children they serve daily. The CLC holds a FOUR STAR certification, the highest recognized.
Conscious Discipline is an evidence-based, trauma-informed approach. It is recognized by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration’s (SAMHSA’s) National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices (NREPP), and received high ratings in 8 of 10 categories in a Harvard analysis of the nation’s top 25 social-emotional learning programs. The Harvard study’s authors say, “Conscious Discipline provides an array of behavior management strategies and classroom structures that teachers can use to turn everyday situations into learning opportunities.”
Our core methodology is based on four essential components that are scientifically and practically designed for success: BRAIN STATE METHOD, SEVEN POWERS FOR CONSCIOUS ADULTS, CREATING THE SCHOOL FAMILY, SEVEN SKILLS OF DISCIPLINE.
Daily Library Time
Each week, our children visit the CLC Library — a cozy, inviting space filled with age-appropriate books that spark imagination and build a love for reading. During Library Time, teachers share engaging stories that point to God’s truth, encourage curiosity, and strengthen early literacy skills.
Children get to explore books on their own, practice handling them with care, and sometimes bring home a story to share with their family. Library Time helps little learners develop vocabulary, listening skills, and a lifelong love for reading while connecting stories to God’s big story.
Weekly Spanish Lessons
At the Creative Learning Center, we love opening little minds to new languages and cultures! Each week, children enjoy fun and interactive Spanish lessons through songs, games, and simple conversation. They learn colors, numbers, greetings, and everyday words in a playful, age-appropriate way.
Spanish lessons not only help build early language skills and brain development but also encourage curiosity about the world God created and love for people from different places and cultures.
